INMA Global Media Awards (2022)

Agora won the 2022 INMA Global Media Award in the category of Best Public Relations or Community Service Campaign in National Brands for raising climate change awareness.

Daily Maverick, South Africa

African Digital Media Awards (2022)

Daily Maverick was a finalist in the African Digital Media Awards for the Best News Website or Mobile Service category, the Best Trust Initiative for Our Burning Planet and in the category for best Use of Audio for Don't Shoot the Messenger Season 3. They also won the award for the Best Reader Revenue Initiative for Maverick Insider and were named named best newsletter for The First Thing by John Stupert.

El Faro, El Salvador

ICFJ Knight Trailblazer Award (2022)

Carlos Dada, the founder and director of the Salvadoran news site El Faro, received the ICFJ Knight Trailblazer Award for his reporting on human rights, corruption and more in Central America.

Food for Mzansi, South Africa

African Digital Media Awards (2022)

Food for Mzansi was nominated for Best Use of Online Video for a piece called 'No room to hide: Climate change in the Cape Winelands'. They also won the Best Digital Advertising Project for the Pan-African Summit on Youth in Sustainable Agriculture and the Best Gen Z Initiative for the Health for Manzini initiative.

Rappler, Philippines

Woodrow Wilson Award (2022)

Rappler CEO and Nobel laureate Maria Ressa received the prestigious Woodrow Wilson Award at Princeton University’s Alumni Day celebration.

Vijesti, Montenegro

Transantlantic Leadership Network Freedom of the Media Award (2022)

Zeljko Ivanovic, founder and journalist of the Montenegrin daily Vijesti, won a Freedom of the Media Award presented by the Transantlantic Leadership Network (TLN), a Washington-based nonpartisan think tank.
