The Nigeria Media Innovation Program (NAMIP), Media Development Investment Fund’s initiative to increase capacity, generate sustainable and diverse revenue streams, and build audiences of independent media in Nigeria, has launched its second set of case studies highlighting the work of its partners.

Following its first series of case studies celebrating entrepreneurial approaches to journalism, the new case studies focus on how partners are experimenting with local language programming, audience engagement strategies, and capitalizing on collaboration between different media.

Drawing from the work of eight media outlets across six different case studies, the outcomes of their work demonstrate how independent outlets adopted innovative solutions to overcome a range of challenges. This includes Daily Trust and Omalicha Radio’s use of local language programming for growth, Ikeja Record’s strategy to build a dedicated, niche audience, MSME Africa’s strives to build an all-encompassing ecosystem for its audiences, TechPoint Africa’s experiments with building a niche community, Women Radio and Nigeria Health Watch’s experimentation with brand positioning and the role of events in shaping Culture Custodian’s approach to running a media company.
