Our Portfolio

From 1996 to September 30, 2015, MDIF provided $133.6 million in affordable financing, including:

  • $117 million in loans and equity investments;
  • Approximately $16 million in technical assistance and other grants;
  • Earned over $39.8 million in interest, dividends and capital gains;
  • Collected more than $64.3 million in recovered principal invested;
  • $0.6 million through Digital Kiosk, the secure payment service for independent media.

MDIF has invested in 108 clients and 325 projects across 38 countries, writing off 8% of the total loaned and invested.

MDIF has returned $31.2 million to investors. It ended September 30, 2015 with a portfolio of $40.8 million in outstanding loans and investments.
