Our Portfolio

From 1996 to December 31, 2013, MDIF provided $128 million in affordable financing, including:

  • $112 million in loans and equity investments;
  • $15.6 million in technical assistance and other grants;
  • Earned over $38.5 million in interest, dividends and capital gains;
  • Collected more than $59 million in recovered principal invested;
  • $0.5 million through Digital Kiosk, the secure payment service for independent media.

MDIF has invested in 96 clients and 298 projects across 31 countries, writing off less than 3% of the total loaned and invested.

MDIF has returned more than $25 million to investors. It ended December 31, 2013 with a portfolio of $49 million in outstanding loans and investments.
